Hello!

Post by wegranger »

Hello Everyone,

Greetings from San Diego. This looks to be a great forum and you have already provided me with new information on the Graingers. I am also interested in tracing back Cox and Hill.

Thank you all for your welcoming remarks. I'm trying to get up to speed on how to properly use the forum, but to address Peter's question, I am connected to James Grainger and Emma Hill as their son John was my 2nd great grandfather. John Grainger married Elizabeth Cox in 1872 at the Trinity Church in Amblecote and had had three children listed in the 1881 census: William James, Ann, and Emma. My great grandfather John Grainger, Jr., was born in 1881-82. John Grainger appears to have emmigrated to the US in 1887 and the rest of his family came over in 1891.
