What I do find surprising and haven't yet heard an explanation as to how he was arrested, if it had been in this country (England) how many of us here would expect that he would still be alive, to appear in court?

I've not heard the details of how he was arrested, although he's quoted as saying that he hadn't expected to live, and was also expecting to shot on his way into court.
I was impressed to hear that instead of people not wanting to join political youth groups, the memebership of these groups has already increased in Norway. Generally in Norway, people are supporting each other and standing united as a nation, rather than letting one man split the country in two!
