This gentleman died in Coleraine, Victoria, Australia in 1919.
He is supposed to have been born in Cornwall, England in about 1830.
On his death certificate the informant remembered his mothers name was Carol Slater but couldn't recall the fathers name.
There are literally dozens of trees on Ancestry, Find My Past, Rootsweb and TheGenealogist stuck at this part of tracing the Bickly line.
I believe his parents came from Coventry, Warwickshire and that this is them in 1841 in Middlesex
Address: Lizard Street, St Luke, City Road, East, Finsbury
County: Middlesex
BICKLEY, Robert M 30 1811
BICKLEY, Caroline F 30 1811
BICKLEY, Joseph M 9 1832
BICKLEY, William M 7 1834
BICKLEY, Charles M 2 1839 Middlesex
And without William in 1851
Address: 8, Radnor Street, Saint Luke, Finsbury
County: Middlesex
BICKLEY, Robert Head Married M 44 1807 Watch Dial Enameller Coventry Warwickshire
BICKLEY, Caroline Wife Married F 42 1809 Coventry Warwickshire
BICKLEY, Joseph Son Unmarried M 19 1832 Watch Dial Enameller Liverpool Lancashire
BICKLEY, Charles Son M 12 1839 Scholar St Luke Middlesex
BICKLEY, Robert Son M 3 1848 Scholar St Luke Middlesex
BICKLEY, Caroline Daughter F 6 1845 Scholar St Luke Middlesex
BICKLEY, Mary Ann Daughter F 0 (3 MOS) 1851 St Luke Middlesex
By 1871 they moved back to Coventry, Warwickshire where Caroline died in 1871.
Robert remarried in 1889 at the age of 82 to a Sarah Skidmore.
He died in 1900 in Coventry.
What I need to do is prove Robert and Caroline are William's parents.
I have not found a census that shows William in Cornwall but that is the place of birth on his marriage. He may well have alread been in Australia by 1851. He married in Australia in 1855.
HIs father moved around a bit as his skill, Watch Dial Enameller, was in great demand as as you can see, he also had children in Liverpool and London so Cornwall is not out of the question for Williams birth.
I am sure Williams parents would have married in Warwickshire but I have had no luck finding the marriage.
It may be in Pallots marriage index for Warwickshire if anybody has access to that.
Robert Bickley and Caroline Slater would have married around about 1829.
I have traced a couple of the London Baptisms and they do not mention the mothers maiden name.
A few of his children born in Middlesex married in Warwickshire but no clues to the mothers maiden name on those documents.

Yes, that is him and his marriage to Sarah Jackson.
I can't read my own notes sometimes.
His son Robert married Sarah Skidmore.
