Comp query

Post by Northern Lass »

I am on my older computer at the moment and it is playing up
when I try and copy and paste something in an email it doesnt show it
but if I send it it shows when I look at sent copy
:?

West Midlands Birth indexes for the years: 1837
Surname Forename(s) Sub-District Registers At Reference
WOODHOUSE James Stourbridge Dudley Register Office STO/001/21

I can paste the above
but if I try and drop it in an email I cant see the pasted item

but it will paste other bits in email from free bmd just not this

or at least it wont let me see it.

I will try logging off and restarting but it is so slow

any ideas

also when I am in the list for the archvies it jumps about
when I try and post something in there

agghhhh!

Paste the information into Notepad first.

Then copy and paste from Notepad into your e-mail program.

You are copying hidden formatting information that Notepad will ignore and remove.

Now, at my usual $260 an hour that will be, rounding it down for 5 minutes it took to type, $21.66 cents thanks.

What I usually do when I copy anything from the internet is copy and paste it into word using the Paste Special Key - for entries from WMBMD I use Formatted Text (RTF) and then double click on the blue underlined bit and "Remove Hyperlink", this is of course only if I want to keep a record of what I'm copying. If you aren't keeping a record, then Notepad is best.
