Just been sitting outside and heard a grasshopper
I haven't heard one for a few years

We get them every year in the garden. They like to sun themselves on the ramp that runs up to the front door (which, due to a quirk of the development of the village, is round the back and overlooks the garden) and, being much the same colour, usually startle us as they leap out of the way of our approaching feet.
Currently investigating the Hillmans of Sussex.

We tend to hear them most summers, don't see them very often though!

one i took ealier think it a grasshopper and not a cricket ?
