I have this family in my tree expat, I never found a marriage for Samuel and Eliza.
Eliza was originally married to Edward Jones and their daughter Sophia married Isaac Burns in 1906 at St Marks in Tipton.
I haven't done any research on Eliza's family but there is a possible marriage here :
06.02.1876 - St Thomas, Dudley Edward Jones, 23, Bachelor, Miner, of Dudley, Father Edward Jones, Miner Eliza Jane White, 20, Spinster, of Dudley, Father Richard White, Boatloader Wit : William Taylor and Emma Whitston?
in 1891 Eliza is living at 100C Great Bridge Street, West Bromwich,

Thanks Maggie, I have been mulling this over today.. trying to work out what is going on with this family.
I also have that marriage to Edward JONES in 1876 and the other census data... that ties up exactly with what I have. By 1891 Eliza J JONES is a widow... and Samuel HOMER is living with her.
By 1901 it looks as though they have had 2 children together...Annie ( born 1892 ) and John ( or Jack) born 1894
That 1911 census confused me a bit because the kids surnames have changed from HOMER to JONES .... but maybe this was a case of 2 people living together as man and wife without going through the formal 'marriage' bit?
I did find the following marriage in 1921 for Eliza J JONES & Samuel HOMER.... from 'Ancestry'... England & Wales Marriage Index 1916-2005 Did they eventually get around to making this legal??
Eliza J Jones Samuel Homer Jan-Feb-Mar 1921 West Bromwich Staffordshire
I don't have the marriage certificate... so I can't say for certain. I am hoping that a relative who made contact with me this week through 'Ancestry' will be able to shed a little more light on this... she has apparently been researching this branch for a year.
Maggie... if you are interested & want to see my tree on Ancestry... just send me a pm with your email and I can send you an invite to view my tree ( which is a 'private tree' on 'Ancestry') I think we have a few people in common in our trees.... from previous threads? I have gone back a bit further with the JONES, as it is my mother-in-law's family...but have only been looking at this properly for the last month since she visited us from the UK.... so some of my research is not complete!... a bit 'rough round the edges'!!
