I go on my scooter to work 12km there and back and not once do i have to leave a bike path!!
More bikes less cars on the road.

Erm, e x c u s e me, but Dudley Borough do have bicycle paths and they even have "give way" markings on the pavement.

Do they? Oh ok but I'm on about paths built for bikes not markings on the main road that are meant for bikes but cars can drive on them as well!!

I gave my bike away a couple of years ago after a near miss with a bus on the Wolverhampton Road.

Cycling along the canal paths is OK - as long as the canal goes where your'e going.

Pete - 12Km with an engine is pretty easy too, have a look at his post, he says SCOOTER, now unless it's one of those kiddie ones where you have to put one foot on the board and 'scoot' along with your other foot...................

All most every Saturday or Sunday my son runs from Kidderminster to Worcester, or vica versa, at the age age of 40, 14 -16 miles.

May be shouldnt laugh, but people do it for enjoyment too now. And is it really saving the world usiing other methods of transport?
I dont know...
Cant do it myself but encourage my kids they do and my husband does. But sometimes a taxi comes in handy!
My daughter did after her hike doing her Duke of Edinburgh award Friday to Saturday and still went to work today. Walked to work but taxi home! Bless her!

All most every Saturday or Sunday my son runs from Kidderminster to Worcester, or vica versa, at the age age of 40, 14 -16 miles.

Don't dare add up the km's my husband runs every week, he's out now for a "gentle" trot of about 12km with the local running club. Next week he'll do his third half marathon of the season (although that only equates to his weekly long run), and in September he's running his third marathon(2nd this year). Some, including me call him crazy!

Oh and just to add to the crazieness he has a mountain bike.

What's crazy about that - we live in Denmark, only place that's flatter is the Netherlands!! (The highest hill is seriously called "Sky Mountain"!!!).
