I have in my possession a World War 1 medal and a letter awarding a second medal to Private Fred Dunn service number 47677 of the Northumberland Fusiliers.
Fred was killed in action 9 April 1917 and his medal was sent to his parents at 15 Earl Street, Coseley, Bilston after the war in 1921.
The medal came into my possession after my mother died when it was found tucked away in an old biscuit tin.
I know Fred and his family lived in Coseley from 1901 onwards, from census and he had siblings.
The mystery is I can find no connection with my family at all.
If a proven relative of Fred would make contact I would happily pass on what information I have.

Re: Private Fred Dunn WW1
I have contacted a couple of decendants of Private Dunn's siblings that have trees on Ancestry.
They would be Great x 3 nieces/nephews.
If they respond we can exchange contact information and you can discuss with them the way forward.
