Another newbie
My member name is part of the reason that I joined this forum. It comes from the fact that whenever I have a problem, I'll simply sit down, have one or more cups of tea until a possible solution can be seen! Which doesn't half irritate some people!
I'm hoping to be able to research just one part of my family, which is the one belonging to my maternal grandfather. The trouble is, at present, I dont have a surname for him! However, I do have a little information about him, which should with a lot of patient research should give me that... I hope! From there, the quest can begin!

Re: Another newbie
Welcome to the forum Tea Time -- you don't say whether you have done some family hunting before or whether you are coming as a newcomer to the whole process.
We welcome both novices (and help them to improve -- see Antie Em's master class for Hope) and those who have more experience but would appreciate another set of eyes and brain to tackle the problem.
Happy Hunting

Re: Another newbie
This thread would be best kept for introductions so it would be better if you could start another thread in Beginners section with a different title.
One word of caution is that we do not reveal information on the open forum that will identify any living person so if your information starts with something like that we would need to start in private.
Are you a novice at computers too or just family history? -- Nobody wants to teach their grandma to suck eggs as the saying goes but neither would we want to bamboozle you with too much jargon.

Hi Tea Time welcome to the forum
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Hi Tea Time
Welcome to the forum.
I love your name, and am totally with you on that one. I live in Denmark and my danish husband doesn't speak much english, but he knows how to say "Put the kettle on"! I blame my mother for that one

I am obviously missing this -- why do other people get irritated?
