1911 Wales census please

Post by expat66 »

Just discovered that my husband's family are not as 'Welsh' as I thought

.....apparently some of his WHITTONs or WITTONs were from the Black Country originally

Could some kind soul please check the 1911 Wales census for me ( I don't have FMP) and find John WHITTON ( or WITTON) and family
address would be 26 Dudley Street, Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales
He would be aged around 35.....
wife Edith ( JONES) and there should be around 6 children.... some of which I think may have been born in the Black Country?

I want to find out where they were all born?

Apparently many of the street names in Newport are named after locations in the Black Country!

Many Thanks

I also thought my dad's family were all Welsh until I started my research after he died and discovered they all came from Clent and Netherton. They also made the journey to Newport around 1905, when my Granddad was about 6.

I agree - I started mine over 12 years ago, so now have most of my close family - it's really nice though to find a new branch and start on another name.

Can I archive this now ?
