ARC TBC - Haynes Family in Dudley
I have been trying for some time to trace my Haynes family in Dudley/Princes End/Kingswinford working back from 1841 census.
I can find no trace in Staffordshire or Worcestershire census for any of them.
I have also tried wider search in Warwickshire and Shropshire to no avail!
Father Richard Haynes born c 1774
Mother Mary Downson (?) born c 1775
They married 1794 in Kingswinford (?).
Children - Richard born 1803, Ann born 1805, Job born 1807, Mary born 1809, Elizabeth born 1811, John born 1814, Thomas born 1822 and William born 1824.
William the youngest of the family is my direct ancestor and I have his marriage certificate and whereabouts from 1848 onwards.
Can any one make any suggestions?
Thanks

Re: Haynes Family in Dudley
Thanks guys, your info confirms some of mine re marriage and births but sadly still can't find any trace of their whereabouts in 1841 census or death of Richard or Mary snr.
Many thanks for making me feel welcome as a newcomer to this forum.

It also may be possible they may not have been alive then they would be about 67.
What have you got for William from his marriage info, witnesses too it may help?
Are the children you have put verified?

Re: Haynes Family in Dudley
Hi Alan, Jo is right, doubt Richard and Mary would still be alive in 1841
Do you have baptism's for the children here:-
Richard born 1803, Ann born 1805, Job born 1807, Mary born 1809, Elizabeth born 1811, John born 1814, Thomas born 1822 and William born 1824.
My GtX4 Grandparents were also Richard 1791 Shropshire and Mary Ann Haines/Haynes. They moved to Kingswinford, Bromley circa 1830. Richard was a Blacksmith. There were a few Haynes families in the Brierley Hill and Kingswinford area. I think a lot of them came from Shropshire, up the Canal looking for work. Richard and Mary later moved to Rowley Regis, they died about 1912. HTH from Linell.
