Thanks for asking everyone - seems to have been over and done with pretty quick and everything's back to normal!! I'll probably never know if it was e-coli or not (some people have very mild symptoms).

As far as us health proffessionals overreacting, my husband came home with funny vision and had been a little dizzy and had vommited. I immeadiatly thourght he'd had a stroke, and was all for calling an ambulance!(Quick response is essential for optimal treatment)! Turned out the silly man had put his contact lenses in the wrong eyes!!
