Think it could be Shil scale grinder though rather than Shie comparing it with other letters

Have been googling and could be a skil scale grinder- could be a k not an h- and there does seem to be such a thing as a skil grinder

Wonder if Granny lived in Manchester, I have found some Ancestors with odd out of the way places of birth, they are usually either a) where Granny lives, or b) unmarried mothers were often shipped out of town 'somewhere' else to give birth. linell.
