Hello & Introduction

Post by Tass »

Delighted to become a member of this forum - this is building into a significant resource for all of us with Black Country ancestors.

My PATTEN line begins in Much Wenlock in the 1500s, but came to the Wolverhampton area when my 3 x gt grandfather joined the migration from the Ironbridge Gorge some time before 1810 to find work in the new mines in the Black Country.

I've been researching this line for a couple of decades, and am now keen to learn more about the families my ancestors married into (mainly Heath Town and Wednesfield), including STEVENS (as in Stevens Screw Co.); HAYWARD (as in Sir Jack of Wolverhampton Wanderers fame); MARSHALL (traps); GULLEY; and ROBERTS (traps).

Looking forward to contributing.

hi tass and welcome to the forum
A person should have an opinion on everything, It becomes tact whether you reveal that opinion or not.

Hi Tass really good to have you on board!

and thank you for the kind words

We have some great people on here and like to think that we can at least have a go
at trying to solve some of the queries posted

I know that you know of the Connections tree and have helped us with some of it already for which we thank you
this project is all about pulling together and sharing information in a friendly and dedicated manner.

So do let us have some of yours to add to the tree....and Wolverhampton is fine! Know it well
