The Medal Reunited Project

Post by UV Genealogy »

Hi all,

I have recently setup a project to document the last known or current location of our ancestors WW1 medals, with the goal of reuniting as many as possible with those searching for those awarded to their ancestors.

The project is growing daily and now have over 500 medals and soldiers documented.

We cannot advertise publicly their current owners or locations so if there is one on the list you believe to belong to your ancestor then please contact me and I will contact the seller/Owner directly and put you in touch - email: nik@uvgenealogy.co.uk

The searchable list can be viewed at: http://uvgenealogy.co.uk/29701.html

If you need help with military research or locating a service number to help you search then you can also contact me through the same address.

We are updating daily so save to your favourites and check back if you dont find success straight away.

regards

UltraViolet Genealogy.

What a fantastic idea!

I know who has my Grandad's and they are not even blood related.

There should be a law to force them to hand them over to the legal next of kin.

What a brilliant idea!
My grandfather's medals were, I think, given to a neighbour by my grandmother  I suspect that she thought she had no grandson to give them too and he was the nearest male!

My granddad's medals were sold - along with his gold watch and other valuable's by his wife's (moms stepmother) new husband before he did a disappearing trick to Australia. Can't print here what my mom calls him - but it sounds good in a real black country accent. I'd love to know where they are now.

my great grandfather had boer war medals as well as ww1 medals including a DCM issued in Gallipolli.
they were lost during a house clearout after a death and ive been looking on auction sites for years with no luck.
