Thanks Snoopysue.

Then there was my friend in France. She came off her horse 18 months ago and had a very, very, serious brain injury, she's only recently back on the planet. Nothing else, though, just the head injury. So why did the Air Ambulance cut off her knickers. :? But then, it was France, so probably no explanation needed.

snoopysue wrote:To be honest, I wouldn't worry about it! In your ex brother in law's case, Lulu, he'd have probably had his clothes cut off him in A and E. As for everybody else - we've seen it all before and worse! You stop noticing after a while, unless it's really really bad, or plain strange!

I've scanned a few men who go comando! :o :o
The look on their faces when we ask them to take their trousers off!! I mean most of us change our underwear once a day, do they change their trousers once a day too? I scanned one, who had trunks on instead of undies - made me wonder if he normally didn't wear anything, but had a bit of foresight that day!!

Can you imagine That!!

To wear under your trousers trunks!!!
or worse
and this would be truly awful

Black ladies Lycra shorts!! with a sort of padding under those!!
that would be seriously weird!!

:? Would the padding be at the back, or the front. I seriously don't need any at the back.

They'd do that here in Denmark as well - in case of a serious accident like your friends, she could have had other serious injuries, so to examine her properly they'd have cut off her clothes. It's more difficult in cases of head injuries/ unconcious patients as the patient can't tell you where it hurts. But even when they are concious, pain in one place can mask pain somewhere else.
In an ideal world a patient should be examined, scanned, x-rayed etc within an hour (they have the best chances of recovery then), so there are routines set up which are followed fairly ridgidly to make sure nothing is missed. I'd guess that most of the western world does it this way.
