Hi friends,

Well thanks. It has been a little while since I have been able to use the computer at the library. I am guessing all of this indicates that Clive never got married or had children of his own. I think it is also safe to say that the chances of finding a photo of Clive are very, very slim.

But all of the other information is certainly amazing, like all the other children and relations!

If this country were ever under attack or invasion, I think it is safe to say that with people like you out there, a network of agents and spies already exists to attack the attackers!

Just to flag with those concerned on this thread that there is a link with the Bugle Grove bible article and Clive Williams.

Levi Arthur Williams the father of Clive is the nephew of Hannah Annie Williams and Lucy Lydia Williams.

ie Levis father is Levi b abt 1818 and Hannah/Lucys father is Phineas b 1821
Levi 1818 and Phineas 1821 are brothers
being the sons of Benjamin Williams and Ann

I will try and add the details asap to Black Country Connections...
http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... onnections

the links are coming together nicely!

Hi from the library!

Thank you again for all the new information. We have so much more now than we did all those years ago with Rowley Regis. If you feel the time is correct to move this post, then please do so. As you say, it can always be brought back if further information is provided. Again though, I feel that we will never find a living relative - they would be too distant themselves now to perhaps even care. Sad.

Thank you though for the friendship, help, guidance, assistance, etc.

Hi Clive

We are going to leave this post in this section and run at finding a descendant...chip away at it!

So we do actually have a living descendant via the Williams and Phineas line but via marriage....

Clive is the Levi line here....

http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =505757367

and then there is Phineas here

http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... =854834438

his dau Lucy marries a Samuel Folkes and his sister is a Julianna and hence the living line

So shall we try and run with a more direct one... ie sibs of Clives
we have the marriage now on this line here

http://bcconnections.tribalpages.com/tr ... d=50491026

so there should be kids for this marriage
in 07 Jul 1913
St Paul`s, Blackheath

then Pete found these children for the above marriage.....
wonder why none before...war?

Births Dec 1921
Williams Dorothy I Marler Tamworth 6b 811

Births Mar 1922
Williams Joyce B Marler King's N. 6d 177

So Clive have you checked on Genes or Ancestry trees to see if anyone has these names?
That would take you to a living descendant
and one that if they have taken the time to have a tree put together would I am sure be so pleased with all this work you have done

Can we find our way down the tree guys with the 2 above and a marriage?
I know out of the area so not likely to be on bmsgh and Williams is a popular name!
I think Genes is the way to go.
What do we all think
where to next?

Hello! Hello! Happy New Year - Blwyddyn Newydd Dda one and all! And welcome to 2012, three years or so since I last posted an update or any news. First, I must offer many, many thanks to you all for all your original assistance. The fact that one is still able to post an update here is a solemn attestation to the memory of all those who died in war. Thank you.

I did not post anything for a considerable period because these was nothing to post. Quietly, in the background, I continued hitting brick walls. Even one of the librarians at the Imperial War Museum searched through a catalogue of photographs as part of the Bond of Sacrifice project. A considerable undertaking. Nothing. Actually there was a Private C Williams from 1917 sitting in uniform for a London-based photographer. The uniform is not obviously that of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and I see no reason why someone with no London connection, fighting in the war, would find himself in London in 1917. I should also mention this project http://www.1914.org/wall/

I discovered the Birmingham History Forum and posted my search on there. It prompted good comments, a few (tried) suggestions, but I had come to accept that my search really had come to an utter end. I even wrote to the BBC to see if they would tel the story as part of Remembrance Day. Nothing. Other than a spiritual artist (!) there would be no chance of ever finding a photograph of Clive.

Yesterday lunch time I checked my emails and was surprised to find a message from one of the Birmingham History Forum members, "Mistress Brummie", who had already posted a couple of photographs of Clive's 4 Watling Street home. In her own words:

"Clive I do hope you see this. The strangest thing happened today. I don't often buy the local paper in Tamworth but saw it in the newsagents so decided to buy one. I read through it while eating my lunch I started reading the article and nearly choked on my sandwich. The name Dr Daniel McColl jumped off the paper it has to be the same man as you have been searching for and listed in the article is the family and date of the funeral of his and Amplia's daughter." Wendy, "Mistress Brummie" had taken a scan of the article and there jumping out was the name of Dr McColl's and Amplias's daughter, who recently died. She was Clive neice. The article also contained the names of this dearly departed lady's three daughters.

Immediately I telephoned the Tamworth Herald to ask for my details to be passed to the family, but the reporter is away until Monday. I googled a couple of the names, found a contact and last night wrote a long email about my quest... only time will tell if good will come, but it shows the story still has an opportunity. Clive's image might yet live with his memory.

Thank you also to Mallosa for asking me to post an update!
