On the seventeenth day of June 1873. the Will of Abraham Jeavons late of the parish of Sedgley in the county of Stafford, Retail Brewer and Provision Dealer deceased who died on the ninth day of May 1852, at the parish of Sedgley aforesaid was proved in the District Registry attached to Her Majesty's Court of Probate at Lichfield by the Oaths of Daniel Jeavons of Trinity Road, West Bromwich in the county of Stafford, Iron Moulder the son of the deceased, and Solomon Eades (in the Will written Hedes) of 10 Fallows Street, Middlesborough in the county of York, Iron Roller, the Executors therin named, they have first sworn duly to administer. Effects under £100, to (?) leasholds. Extracted by S & H S Chinn, Proctors, Lichfield.
This is my last Will and Testament. I Abraham Jeavons of the parish of Sedgley in the county of Stafford, Retail Brewer and Provision Dealer, make and publish this my will in manner and form following, first I will and direct that all any(?) just debts funeral and testamentary expenses be paid by my executors herin after named, out of my personal property or any money that may fall into their hands by virtue of this my Will. I give and devise all my household goods of what nature, kind or quality the same may be; also all my shop fixtures and stock in trade; also all my stock of malt, hops, stock of ale and all my brewing utensils. With all and every thing I die possessed of unto my son Daniel Jeavons, and my son in law Solomon Hedes, their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns upon trust that they my said trustees shall allow my wife Leah Jeavons to have the free use of all and every thing during the term of her natural life, also the house I live in, Brewhouse, shop and all a... therto belonging. I give and devise unto the aforesaid Daniel Jeavons and my son in law, Solomon Hedes, their executors, administrators and assigns upon trust, that they my said trustees shall allow my wife to have peaceable possession of my aforesaid dwelling house, brewhouse, shop and all a... thereto belonging during the term of her natural life. But as soon as may be convenient after her decease, they my said trustees, or the survivor of them, shall sell all my household goods, stock of ale, brewing utensils, and the house I live in , shop, brewhouse, and all a... thereto belonging with all and everything they are left in trust of, and the money arising from such sale or sales they, my said trustees or the survivor of them, shall divide the money equally among my children or their heirs;(my wife shall keep good my stock of ale, malt, hops and grocery goods, and so as not to make the property less, and shall keep the house and premises in tenantable repair). And lastly I hereby nominate, constitute and appoint my son, Daniel Jeavons and my son in law, Solomon Hedes, executors of this my will. In witness thereof I the testator Abraham Jeavons have to this my last will and testament, set my hand and seal, this seventeenth day of January one thousand eight hundred and fifty two. I've added punctuation, to make it easier reading, other than that it's as on the copy I've got, there are a couple of places where the hand writing is difficult to read, but I think it's ok!
