*ARCHIVE?* Andrew Benson & Fanny Fogg
Andrew Benson - Clerk otp married Fanny Fogg - Sp of this Parish 27 May 1822 St Mary, Walton on the Hill.
Witnesses: Elizth. Benson; Edwd. Musker
Andrew doesnt appear to be on 1841 Census which is the only census I have for them so far
1841 census Hart Street, Liverpool
HO107 / 560 /13/42 p 23
Fanny Benson 40 b Lancashire
John Benson 17 b Lancashire
Andrew Benson 15 b Lancashire
Andrew, the son was my great great grandfather
This is the furthest back i've been so far. What happens when you reach the 1941 census. Is it possible to get any further back or is it a dead end? Anyone have any other details on Andrew (senior) or Fanny? Thankyou

Presuming you mean the 1841 census -- yes it is possible to get further back but not so easily and certainly there is a lot less on the internet.
There are the parish records -- presuming they have not been lost, spoilt, are legible.
There are various trade directories.
If you are lucky there may be a will or two.
Others on here will give you more options and how to find them.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have an ancestor called Fanny Fogg!
Currently investigating the Hillmans of Sussex.

I was thinking that - she sounds like she should have been a musical hall act

There's no place like home ......

Re: Andrew Benson & Fanny Fogg
Haha I thought there may be a few comments I havent stopped laughing yet
Can anyone find Fanny's birth for me? I have found a tree by googling her and it could possibly be the same Fanny Fogg Born 1794 in Wigan? The tree also shows her parents and her mother's parents so would be great if I could link it up!
Also I havent been able to find Andrew on any census yet He doesnt appear to be on 1841 and by 1851 he is deceased so any info on him would be great
Thanks

I wouldn't copy anyone else's tree Yerffej, a lot of the ones you find on line are often wrong.

There are no births before 1837, only Baptism's, some of them are on the IGI but not all Parish Registers are on there.
You can write or email Liverpool Archives, they will do a search for you, but they do charge.

Re: Andrew Benson & Fanny Fogg
Thanks for the advice Linell. I wouldnt have copied the tree but could have used it as a guide. I know I need to confirm everything. I tried contacting the Liverpool archives a few days ago re another relative It seems they are closed at the moment. They have acknowledged my email and said they are answering all enquiries in date order so it looks like I will have to wait a while...
