Now that is over....back to hunting dead people!

Post by MarkCDodd »

Just had the all clear from a bout of pleurisy that lasted six weeks!

Every time you cough it feels like somebody is stabbing you between the shoulder blades.

Since I was coughing without a break from the time I got up to the time I went to bed, it wasn't much fun.

I get pleurisy at least once a year but the longest it ever lasted was three days.

After three different anti-biotics didn't work they took a sample (which involved stabbing me in the back with a large needle to get to the lung cavity).

Turns out I was lucky enough to have one of those drug resistent staph that hang around in hospitals.

Probably caught it when visiting my mother in hospital.

So a very expensive and not often used anti-biotic was given and it cleared the problem in a few days.

I did no genealogy in those six weeks and have over 40 messages on Ancestry and 50 on Genes Reunited to tackle.
Black Holes happen when God divides by zero.

Sorry to hear you've not been well Mark - I remember my daughter having a bout of that years ago - she was in agony. Hope your feeling better - and now back to work :-)

Ooh, nasty, Mark! Terrible way to get a break from digging up dead rellies. Try not to do it again, eh?

Good to hear you're better, Billy Connolly has some advice regarding pleurisy:
