"completed" 1841 and 1851 look up please William TAYLOR

Post by expat66 »

Trying to find William TAYLOR on the 1841 and 1851 census

I have him in 1861 in Brades Rd, Oldbury:

William TAYLOR(47) coal miner born Bilston, Staffs
Mary Ann(44) wife born Tipton
William(22) son...coal miner... born Tipton
Thomas(17) son... coal miner.. born Kingswinford
Phebe(11) daughter..........".
Joseph(9) son............"..
Elizabeth(7) daughter....... "..
Hannah(3) daughter..born Oldbury

In 1851 his wife and family are in Brades Rd... but Mary Ann is listed as the head of the house.... and there are a couple of extra daughters.. Sharlot(age 14 in 1851)born Tipton and Mary A(11 in 1851)born Kingswinford and Joseph's twin brother John(2 months old in 1851... and not on the 1861 census)
Where was William?

This is probably a stupid question.... so please bear with me.... but...if a coal miner was working down the mine at the time of the census.. would he be listed at a home address or did they have census records for the mine?

He must have died before 1871 as his wife is listed as a widow on the 1871 census.... so I have very little info on him!

Can anyone help?
many Thanks
