ARC TBC - Cannot find a marriage record

Post by nailer2011 »

Hi, I am new to this forum so if this is not clear please forgive.

I am trying to identify the mother of a Sarah PEARSON who married Frederick FENDALL (aka FELDON) IN 1841. Her father was JOHN PEARSON and I believe she was one of 6 children who were christened in Park Lane Church, Cradley between 1806 and 1818 and whose parents were JOHN AND HARRIOTT PEARSON; Sarah was christened on 15/12/1918.

JOHN PEARSON was 'deceased' at the time of the marriage of Sarah and in the 1841 census there is a PEARSON family in Mushroom Green, headed-up by widow Harriott; Sarah PEARSON put Mushroom Green as her place of residence at time of her marriage to Frederick.

I cannot find the marriage of John and Harriott to establish Harriott's surname before marriage - help! :?: :(

Thanks - I have the marriage cert of Sarah and Frederick and it shows her father as John PEARSON (deceased) and from Cradley records I have found christening of Sarah, the daughter of a John and Harriott PEARSON, who are described as 'of Mushroom Green'. The 1841 census shows a number of PEARSON families in Mushroom Green including the widow previously mentioned. However, I cannoy find a record of a marriage around 1800 for a John PEARSON and a Harriott SOMETHING.....?

Hi Nailer, maybe John was just a name he used, not his proper christian name, I have found a few men called John in the various records, where they turn out not be John :!: Hope this makes sense. Linell.

Forgot to add that you are doing the right things, looking up the children's baptism's and checking Mushroom Green in 1841, that is the route I would take, try and link some of the Pearsons living there, see if you can find out who 'John's' parents were by working out any brothers. Sorry am talking in genealogy riddles again :!: Linell.

If they were christened at Park lane cradley have you looked at the actual
entries sometimes you get lucky and get the maiden name of the mother I remember
it was Park Lane we actually got the name for one of the Westons mother
