Post by 18chestnut »

Please could anyone help me find out when my paternal great-grandmother CAROLINE SMITH died.
I have tried looking her up in BMD but because her name is a common one the certificates I have applied for did not match.
She was born Caroline DIMMOCK in DUDLEY in 1842, she married JOHN EDWARDS in 1862, he died in 1867 leaving her with a baby daughter Keturah who was my grandmother.
Caroline remarried in 1869 to WILLIAM SMITH.
In the 1901census they were living in NEW STREET ,OLD HILL in the BLACKCOUNTRY, Williams occupation was given as a nailor
Can someone help

There is this one with husband William in the index of the 1911 census.

SMITH, CAROLINE, born about 1842, age 69, living in Rowley Regis.

So her death could be this one,

Smith. Caroline. 68. Dudley. 6c 25.

thank you jimmy.
What was the year of Caroline"s death?
also where were the family living on the 1911 census.
Ihave ancestry.com so I shall wait for the 1911 census to come onto that.
