Like most sites this one seems to find it difficult at times to find people who are prepared to act as mods, one possible option is to follow the example of a foodie site I occasionally frequent where each of the members take turns to do a short period of modding (in their case 3 months), it isn't compulsory but it means that people are more prepared to commit to a shorter, fixed period rather than open-ended one.

I'm afraid I'm up to my ears in RL at the moment and can only spend a few minutes each morning here, but as and when things clear up I will offer some assistance.
