Re: Connecting Rollasons

Thank you Mallosa

I dont have any more info on Mary in the photo. The young woman is Eliza Elizabeth born 1904, she married William Beckett.
The back of the photo is just inscribed Rosannah Rowson with Lizzie and Mary. :(

Re: Connecting Rollasons

Hi Mallosa
I don't think your Rollason file is connected to my Rollasons, not as far as I can see anyway.
Maybe a new one for the Rowson/Rollasons?

I'll pm you now

Re: Connecting Rollasons

Oooh, that's news to me. It does look like she survived then, I was always told she had died.
It really looks like her though and that explains why I couldn't find a death for her.

Thank you grangers, I will amend my tree

I think you are spot on.
Grandad registered Robert's death but he probably wasn't sure of his age anyway

Re: Photo - Front row 2nd right Joe Rollason

No I don't have any relatives on there, Mallosa.
It's a bit difficult to do
He was registered as Rollason, as was his oldest sister, but the rest of the family were Rowson. Grandad has used both names. He married as Rollason but registered his Father's death as Joseph Rowson. :?

Re: Photo - Front row 2nd right Joe Rollason

I haven't a clue when it was taken but Grandad's knees were very badly injured in Galippoli. He had a bullet lodged in the head of his femur too which makes me wonder if this could be 1920.
