The address on the birth certificate is 2, The Council Houses, Great Witchingham, Norwich.

Hello I am researching my family history, my mother was adopted. I have her adoption cert with her mother's name but I don't know how to find her pre-adoption. I have no info on her only her name and where she lived at the birth and her occupation. I have no idea how to link her to the father, after...

I don't know if this information can help me but on the birth certificate under the mothers name it says 'Domestic Help'

Thanks for the help its been great. I'm a little stumped now with Joyce as I don't think she can originate from Norfolk but I don't know how to distinguish who she is?

That's a big help on the father's side, now we need to look into the elusive Joyce and how they came to meet and why was my mother born in Norfolk when it seems neither parent was from here?

The adoption order says Joseph Fleming, presumed killed in action.

He wasn't named on the birth cert but he was named on the adoption order. I presumed this was because father don't legally have to be named on birth certs but do for adoption?

There is nothing against Joseph Fleming except presumed killed in action. I am looking in to the address and I think I have located it. I will have to look at the local church for information.

My mothers name at birth was Ruth Appleton however it was changed at adoption. The address on the birth certificate is 2 The Council Houses, Great Witchingham, Norfolk.
