Hi Morgan
Can you post details of other census returns that you have .....

Hi, The link that Alec supplied is not a link to the list of names he supplied, however, London Metropolitan Archives holds the in-care and adoption files from the London and Middlesex County County Councils, covering the period 1926 to 1965. and the link Alec gave you is to their website, it may be...

Re: Foundling
Any value in having an unusual blood group? Not really, as people's blood groups are usually unavailable to view! If there was a blood group database it would help!! I THINK the names in red are the one's which show mothers maiden name to be the same as childs birth name, meaning it is more likely ...

Hi Isolde & Monika
You could try this site:
http://www.genealogylinks.net/europe/france/index.html
There are lots of links for French Genealogy, there is also a searchable BMD database, but I don't speak/read French so not sure exactly what is available on the database!

Hi Alec, thanks for jumping in! How do I access the GRO records,Nikki? If you want to start going through the indexes page by page searching for all births then you will need a site that holds the images (I personally use Ancestry, but there are other sites around that have the records, I think Find...

Re: Foundling
Hi,
I'm not sure whether the local records were affected or not, however, all local registrations are sent to the GRO quarterly, so the GRO reference should still be available even if the local one isn't.

Re: Viewing BMD Certificates Online
Hi John
The only place that I know of where you can download and print certificates is ScotlandsPeople ......
are your parents from Scotland?
As far as I'm aware there is no online service for English certificates to be downloaded and printed ....
