Re: I'm stuck already!
That marriage looks correct, Eva Eldridge's father was Frederick George Eldridge, so that matches. Also Campion/Thomas/Henry was in the Royal Engineers so thats definitely him too. I'm confused with the names repeating themselves on the census' though, I thought he was born 1876, but only because I ...

Re: I'm stuck already!
Hi Serena, are you wanting people to search for you or just where to look so you can do it yourself? This area is just for people wanting to know the best place or how to search for people to help guide you. Re: I'm stuck already!
You have just achieved more in 10 minutes than I have in 6 months, boy I'm glad I found this forum! Tell me it gets easier? Is there a general pattern of research? I'm still at the stage of entering random names I have into searches, trying to get information together on PAF (don't know if this is a...

Re: I'm stuck already!
Thank you, yes that definitely looks like them. That makes sense as my grandmother origionally told me that Campion had a sister called Selina, but when I saw the 1881 census I presumed she had remembered wrong, and that Selina was his mother's name. So perhaps Campion and Elizabeth had a different ...

Re: I'm stuck already!
OK, sure, thank you! My Great Grandfather is Campion Thomas Wallace (born 1876) in Kent According to my Grandmother he didn't like his name and apparently also used the name Henry Wallace. I have found them on 1881 census with Selina Wallace(born 1840 according to this census) Louisa Wallace (born 1...

I'm stuck already!
Hi, I am very new, so go easy on me if I ask stupid questions! I have found my Great Grandfather's household on the 1881 census, and his mother is widowed, so it doesn't give me his fathers name. I cannot find any of the 3 family members who would have been alive on the 1871 census to get the father...

Hi, New to the forum and genealogy
Hi, I am new here and have begun researching my family history. I think my family have come from the South of England mainly, and I am doing what I can to find out about surnames DUNHAM, WALLACE, ELDRIDGE, HOAD, CHARMAN, BALLANTYNE. I have hit brick walls when I find relatives with the name John Smi...
