Re: Spring Mire Dudley
Thanks for response. As you say Springs Mire seems to be an area around/over the road from Queens Cross cemetery, but on my great grandfathers death cert it specifically says 581 Springmire, suggesting a specific house? I have been browsing 1901 and 1911 census in an attempt to track down this addre...

Spring Mire Dudley
Does anyone know specifically where Spring Mire, alternatively Springsmire or Springs Mire was in Dudley. I know it was an area off Stourbridge Road.
I am trying to track down information relating to an address of 581 Springmire, Dudley from 1905.
Thanks

I have in my possession a World War 1 medal and a letter awarding a second medal to Private Fred Dunn service number 47677 of the Northumberland Fusiliers. Fred was killed in action 9 April 1917 and his medal was sent to his parents at 15 Earl Street, Coseley, Bilston after the war in 1921. The meda...

Re: Cholera in Dudley
Hi
Thanks for reply. I have read the article in the Bugle which in itself is interesting but I am hoping to find more specific detail.
I suspect some of my early 19th century Haynes' died in an outbreak.

Re: Haynes Family in Dudley
Thanks guys, your info confirms some of mine re marriage and births but sadly still can't find any trace of their whereabouts in 1841 census or death of Richard or Mary snr.
Many thanks for making me feel welcome as a newcomer to this forum.

I have been trying for some time to trace my Haynes family in Dudley/Princes End/Kingswinford working back from 1841 census. I can find no trace in Staffordshire or Worcestershire census for any of them. I have also tried wider search in Warwickshire and Shropshire to no avail! Father Richard Haynes...
