Old Hill - Junior School 1837
This picture was taken in 1837 on Bearmore Playing Fields in Old Hill, which belonged to Old Hill Junior and Infant School, or 'The Board' as it was then called.
This must have been an advertising project for Burton Dellingpole, a company who made tubes at the time. The A1 Playing Fields Equipment Company was probably a subsidiary company. 'Burton's', as it was well known, was very close to the playing fields.
My mother is in this picture, sadly I do not know which one she is.
I wonder if anyone else may have some more information relating to this picture. I believe the other children were in her class at the time. Her name was Nellie Willetts.
