Blackheath - The Waterfall Public House, Waterfall Lane
To qualify, this exceptionally rare photograph shows the premises when it was known by its former name - The Oak Tree - adopted sometime I believe in the mid-Victorian period; its original name had been the Vine. At the time of this photograph the licensee was Thomas Priest who managed the business from 1886 -1900. The building to the right was simply called The Lodge and was used for meetings and other functions. In many ways the Waterfall - from the exterior at least - has changed little in the past 120 years.
