Hello. I came across this forum when I googled my great grandad and he turned up in this now locked thread.
I am interested in:
Stokes and Smiths from the Midlands
Priscott's from Devon
Dring's from Sheffield.
My Grandfather was Charles Henry Stokes who was a Son of George Stokes in the article mentioned in the locked thread.
His Wife was Betty Doreen Stokes (nee Smith). Who I don't actually know much about. I know her brother Sidney Smith remained in the Family home at 129 Brunswick park road till about 20 years ago when I believe the house was demolished.
On my Mothers side, Her father was Ian Dring. This is all I know. He disappeared 35 years ago. All I know is that he was from Sheffield.
My Gran on my mothers side, was Gwyneth Ethel (Edith) Dring. Not sure of her middle name. Could be Ethel or Edith.
All of my grandparents are Deceased. Although I am not sure about Ian as no one has heard from him for 35 years.
Myself, my mother and my sister are slowly working together to get as much information as possible to build our family tree. Any help we can gather from anyone would be gratefully received.
Thank you for having me.
:)
