Now problems In Australia, our cars run on PETROL 
Our prices always seem to jump a few cents per litre on long weekends and public holidays.
Pure coincidence say the petrol companies.

yeh mark but we proberly one of the highest petrol price in europe with the oil company and goverment making a fortune agian out of the motorist, it should be pegged to what a barrel of oil cost on the world market, if it goes up so does petrol in ratio and the same when it drops, but it doesnt come down, and all pocket a fortune at our exspence

Its unbelievable how much they keep hiking it up. I can't believe it sometimes when I drive past the garages now, it weren't this bad even a few years back. It is just terrible you know. We're thinking of getting rid of the car, cheaper to jump on the buses and that. Also might be able to treat the kids to some nice new clothes for once in a long while. My names on them petitions now

The price has just come down here! Text tv said it was to do with the US's credit rating!
It's strange with the prices, we rarely buy fuel in the town we live in as it's usually £1 a liter more expensive then the town we work in, then we save a bit more by buying from a self service petrol station. They are usually more expensive on a monday, and generally the price is higher in the afternoon than it is in the morning!
There are also two self service petrol stations oposite each other, and they seem to compete with each other - strange really as they're unmanned - they must have a camera trained on the other one's price sign!!!
My Dad always tanks up with diesel when he visits, as it's way cheaper than the UK and even germany. We use diesel too, and it's usually more than £1 cheaper than petrol.
Edit: Ooops I meant 10pence a liter difference, my price conversion went a bit crazy - Sorry

It is pretty funny I think. Norway have all that oil and they are even more expensive.

They get the benefit of the revenue though, if I'm not mistaken they have december as a tax free month! (yes I know they just pay more the other months, but I like the idea of it!). The Norweigans aren't using all their oil revenue at once though, they're keeping a lot back for rainy day!
Petrol's about £1.30 and diesel about £1.1 at the cheap petrol stations. We don't have the extra tax on diesel you do in the UK.
