I have this family in 1841

New Hall Hill, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England
John RATHBONE(35)..caster?,
wife Elizabeth RATHBONE(30),
Thomas RATHBONE (14)tin plate worker,
Maria RATHBONE (12),
Emma RATHBONE (11),
John RATHBONE (9),
Ann RATHBONE (7),
Elizabeth RATHBONE (5),
Henry RATHBONE (2) all born in County

Of the above children... Thomas & Henry I have found in 1851 but where are all the others?

I just can't find them in 1851. I pick up my ancestor John RATHBONE ( who was aged 9 in above census) in 1857 when he got married to Betsy JORDAN and I have him and his family after that date but just stuck on 1851.
Would really like to work out if the parents John & Elizabeth were still alive in 1851, as I don't have death dates for them... or places of birth more specific than 'Warwickshire'

Any help greatly appreciated
Thankyou

Have you seen this entry in the 1851 census?

3, 5 House, Pigott Street Court, St Thomas, Birmingham
Thomas H RATHBONE (24) tin plate worker,
Sarah Ann RATHBONE (29) wife,
Bernadino Tabciola RATHBONE (3),
Teresa RATHBONE (1),
Henry James RATHBONE (11) errand boy
Elizabeth Ford (39) visitor.
All born Birmingham

Thomas and Henry are your relatives, and the presence of Henry in his brother's home might point to their parents having died.

Yes Stonewaller... I think you could be right.
Would still like to know where the rest of them are though :?
especially John Rathbone, as he is my ancestor and I have him in 1857 when he married

and in 1861 he is living with his inlaws at
8 St Martins Row, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England
Thomas JORDAN(57) brewer,
wife Ann(57).. both born in Hatton,..
children..John(20) iron bedstead maker,
Fanny(16),
son-in-law John Rathbone(29)iron bedstead maker,
Betsy..his wife(Thomas's daughter)(30)dressmaker,
their children John(3),
Ann(2) born B'ham

Maybe 'RATHBONE' has been mispelt on that 1851 census?
Dunno?
