Hello All,

Please could somebody with a good knowledge of Birmingham advise the nearest church of England graveyard to Carver Street?

I know the last place my ancestor lived according to the 1881 census was 89 Carver street, Birmingham and I would like to try and trace a burial record. I've investigated a number of Joseph BAKERs and it's cost me a fortune in certs from GRO and I still havent found him yet! I'm hoping if perhaps I can narrow down the possible C of E graveyards near Carver Street that this might be a good place to begin.

1881 census (age: 65) Residence: Birmingham, Warwickshire, England
89 Carver Street. Occupation - Paver. WIDOWER

Thanks guys.
Descartes

Thanks Mallosa, this is really useful. I'm not very familiar with Birmingham so this is a great map to begin my investigation.

It may not be right? Just the area that his family were living in census?
I wonder if you could ask the local registry to get some help before ordering?
Mally may know?
Jo :)

Yes Jo, that death you found is about the right age for Joseph

Descartes, you could always get in touch with John Yates, I have spoken to him myself and he's very helpful

This is what it says on the Birmingham Register Office site...

"We have a resident Genealogist, John Yates, who is happy to answer any questions you may have about your family history research.
Email him at

register.office@birmingham.gov.uk and mark for the attention of John Yates or give him a ring on 0121 675 2909"
