Hello world!
I've joined this forum to hopefully gain some information on some UK families.
I am researching
1) a Halkyard Line. Oldest records I have are of Samuel Halkyard (b.abt. 1811 - Littleborough, Lancashire) He married Mary Moult about 1836. They had at least 7 children. I am descended from their eldest son Adam.
2) Mills family. Thomas Mills (b. abt 1806 - Roachdale, Lancashire) married Susannah (nee ??). They too had at least 7 children. I am descended from their 6th child John (b. abt 1842 - Oldham, Lancashire) who married Sarah Shepard.
3) Bevan family. Oldest record I have is William Bevan (b. 2 May 1811 - Somersetshire) who married Mary Maise (b. 26 June 1807 - Abson, Gloucestershire). They had 5 children. I am descended from their third child Eliza b. 29 October 1841 - Wales, Bedwellty-Manmoel, Ebbw Vale, (Argoed)). This family emigrated to the USA and landed in New York 25 September 1851. William was already here and I don't know exactly when he emigrated.
