What is this....Treasure?

After being bribed with cake (which I had to make) I and a certain Northern Lady, decided to take my unused Metal Detector for a trial run. We are in need of finding another Staffordshire Hoard, to sustain our Playgirl life style (snorts with laughter). The Lottery doesn't seem to be doing it for us, so Treasure Hunting seemed like a good plan, especially as I had this expensive piece of equipment, given to me as a present, which I've not been brave enough to use yet.

So, yesterday, we took ourselves off to an ancient, historic site, which I am not allowed to name in case we get prosecuted  and had a go.

If nothing else, it was the biggest laugh either of us have had in a while. Trying to set the thing up and understand it was one thing. The conversation we had about what we were doing was another. If anyone had been the other side of a bush and couldn't see what we were doing, they would have thought it was disgusting, somehow, everything we said sounded like it was from an x rated Carry on Film.

The bleeper was going mad but we had to limit ourselves to the amount of digging we did and ended up with four 'Treasures' I don't think we are going to get rich quick at this rate.

So does anyone know what we found?

One more to follow, as I can only load three at a time. Hope you can all contain your excitement.

Number 1 looks a electrical capacitor,

Number 2 looks like remains of a cir clip tool.

Number 3 ?

Number 4, from the description a internal collar of some sort.

Yes I have a new hobby! :P

What fun we had and the cake was lemon drizzle cake and it was fab!

I wondered if number 2 were secateurs
or
vegetable/plant scissor shears
http://www.cookability.biz/cooks-tools- ... tm?SRC=GB1

Can't wait to have another go

I think at the secret site we need to dig a huge pit
and maybe when the earth is a bits softer
maybe 2ft by 3ft and dig deep see what we find

They say laughter is the best medicine and it must be true. I have been glaring at the bare walls of our sitting room for weeks now I couldn't be inspired to choose a wallpaper and the whole idea was causing a deep depression, like a black cloud following me around. I had intended to employ someone to do the papering but then realised I am far too OCD about seams in wallpaper, so as usual am doing it myself. This morning, I went out, finally chose a paper bought it (ouch :o ) and have now hung two pieces. I'm sure I wouldn't have done that if I hadn't had such a laugh yesterday.

I made the cake, got up early in the morning, so it was still slightly warm when we had the first piece. We had to have another piece later, to make sure it was ok cold. Shared the rest with various family and I'm hoping to burn it off now with the decorating.

Jimmy, that link you posted certainly looks like the tube thing we found. So it looks as if we have some quite old, buider's rubble, that has been used as landfill. As NL said, maybe we need to dig a pit, to get back to older stuff, below the landfill.

I think you need a mole on the inside of the Time Team planners .................. and get there before them, there's usually something good to be found on their digs. You might have a whole new hobby.

Can I come next time please ???

Will do NL but I have a chilled glass of Cava, that is waiting to be taken for a walk down to the brook. Must have a go with the detector around there, seeing as there was so much Civil War activity around here.
