Would someone kindly look up Arthur Augustus Barfoot (possibly Burfoot, b c1864) and his wife Lily Starling (nee Ashby 1867) in the 1901 and 1911 census for me. They may be in the Tonbridge/Tunbridge Wells area of Kent although I think Lily died in Worthing in Sussex in 1946.

Godalming! Godalming!! What were they doing in Godalming!!! (apart from running a clothes shop of course )

I wonder if there are any newspaper ads or business directories I could view? Any ideas anyone?

Probably find him in Kellys Directories - some of them are online

Found him in 1911, 1913 and 1918 as an Elective Auditor of the local Council Committee and in 1922 where he had an advert as a clothier - and appointed to the Charter House.

Do you have Ancestry - if not - I'll send you the image.
