Confused over registration districts - COMPLETED

Hi All,

Please could you help me? I'm trying to find a death certificate for one of my ancestors. I get very confused with registration districts and their changes and would appreciate a bit of guidance if I may.

I'm trying to find the date of death for Joseph Baker b.1816 (St Michael's parish, Lichfield). The last record of him was on the 1881 census:

1881
Age: 65
Residence:Birmingham
89 Carver Street. Occupation - Paver. WIDOWER

Please could somebody suggest which Joseph Baker it might be on the 'BMD' index?

Thanks in advance.
Darren

Hi Jimmy,

Yes, I think that's the right entry on the census, however the lichfield records office sent me a xerox baptism record: Joseph BAKER 23 Jun 1816 St. Michaels' Church, Lichfield. Hope this is the same chappie as it was the only one they had in their records! Thanks for the three possibilities. It has been considerably helpful in narrowing down the umpteen Joseph bakers :) thanks again!

Regards,
Darren
