A BIG 'Thank You'...

About two years ago after attending the funeral of my aunt who had just died in
her 101st. year, I decided to visit the archives at Dudley, to try and put together the
little bits of info: she had given me about the family during her last years, her memory
was good but she did seem to get the names of some of her ancestors rather muddled.
I spent the whole day at Dudley, without success, I didn't even know how to operate the
viewing machine ...On the way out I picked up a leaflet for 'Blackcountryconnections' and
this started me on the long road of research. My aunt always insisted that someone in the
family had emigrated to America, but could never quite remember who. I can only give a
big 'thank you' to the members of 'Genealogyforum' for their help in tracing back my family
and also putting me in touch with distant cousins in the US who had also 'clicked' on to BCC
site at random and found what they were looking for. I would like to take this opportunity
thank the members for their assistance and to wish this site and Bcc all the success it deserves.

I know how you feel Sparks! They really know their stuff here, and are willing to help with all our "silly" questions without lecturing!

it is a great forum to be part of, I love the way everyone helps each other out.
And if BCC can help others too, well, that is what it is all about.

Good bunch of people and unique in my experience.
I am a member of a lot of genealogical forums and nothing compares to the friendliness and willingness to help of BCC people.
I think I will drink to their health with a pint, or two, or three, or lots, of Guinness.

I will Join you Mark. (though maybe Vodka and coke rather than guiness). Great site definately helped me, and most definately the friendliest and most patient. Thank you to all have helped me out and advised me and pointed me in the right direction since becoming a member!
