I have found a Joseph GREAVES on the 1851 census living in Lanteglos By Fowey, Cornwall.

He is aged 52, married to Sarah and was born in Harborne.

On the census he is down as a 'Chelsea pensioner'

I thought that Chelsea Pensioners lived in London?...... but this address is in Cornwall?

Does this mean that he would also have military records?... if so.... where would I find them?

At this point I am not sure if he is a relative.... he may be the Joseph GREAVES I have in my tree that is a son of Austin GREAVES and Frances COALES?

Can anyone help with more info?
Many Thanks ( again)

He is actually living in Chelsea in 1861 in a Hospice for Chelsea Pensioners.

He was in the Scotts Guards and signed up on the 6th December 1813 and was a Sergeant when he was discharged on the 30th January 1836.

He was a Brass Founder when he enlisted.

His pension was awarded on the 10th Janaury 1836 meaninghe served 21 years and 76 days.

His estimated year of birth is 1792 according to his attestation.

His daughter's Baptism record is in the Parish Register of St Martin In The Fields, Westminster.

She was Baptised on the 2nd December 1833, they are living in Kightbridge and Joseph's profession is soldier.
