Having traced my Baker line back 300 years my family tree is looking a bit lopsided as I am totally stumped on my grandfather's mother Helen Jane Macdonald.

I know Helen Jane Macdonald was b. 10 jan 1903, married my great-grandfather 9 jun 1926 (in Ootacamund, India) and died 3 mar 1973. On the wedding cert which was with my grandfather's papers it says she resided in Ootacamund (as a nurse) and that her father was Daniel Robert Macdonald. I cannot for the life of me find her birth certificatw on BMD / IGI or anywhere, or indeed any British records on her father! How is this possible when I have so many available details? I would love to explore her parents heritage and start working on that part of my family tree but I have hit a brick wall and have exhausted all avenues I can think of!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've checked FMP and Ancestry and have found nothing. Did she live all her life in India?
