I'm having difficulty reading the maiden name of my Ancestor Ann. I am looking at the birth certificate of my great-great-great grandfather Joseph Baker (b. 25th dec 1848) in the sub-district of Worcester, County of Worcester. His father is listed also as Joseph baker and his mother as ANN BAKER FORMERLY ?......? are there any handwriting experts who can decipher the maiden name from the scan I have attached?
Thank you.
Regards
Darren

I would go with Holt -- is it the same name as her father or is it a previously married name?

Hi Jimmy, that's the family

I just can't seem to find any 'Ann's' that match the name on the scan for a marriage record ? :/

It does look like Holt to me too, but the H isn't capitalised, is there a capital H elsewhere on the document to compare it with?

Hi SRD, thanks for the msg. It does look quite like the 'h' similar in the registrar's name 'Richard' but I cannot find a marriage between a Joseph Baker and a Ann Holt. Perhaps I should investigate brothers and sister and obtain a birth cert for them and see if her name on them is clearer??

If you check Rocky Fowlers post that seems more likely.
