New Judas Priest convert.

I have always claimed Judas Priest as a Black Country band, not Birmingham like most list them.

Their lead singer was born in Sutton Coldfield and went to school in Walsall. The lead guitarist was born in Smethwick!

Anyway, to my huge shock, they were on the Grand Final of American Idol and rocked the house down.

Since most of the audience were devout God Botherers who were there to support the two southern and very young country and western finalists, I thought it was a brave move.

They were brilliant and now my youngest had grabbed my JP CDs and ripped a few songs to her MP3 player.

Just goes to show that good music can span the generation gap.

He used to have a 5 octave range!!!!

Recent tests how he is reduced to 4 octaves....which is still impressive.
