Hi Could you possibly find John Heighway in 1841,51 and 61 please. He was born c1831
I have the 1871 census:
Grocers Shop, Church Preen, Shrops.

Caroline HEIGHWAY wife 36
Caroline HEIGHWAY dau. 7
Willm. HEIGHWAY son 5
and all the others until his death in 1907

I did have the marriage between John & Caroline but wasn't sure if it was the right one.
Looking at 1851 census maybe Catherine Paston was really Poston and she was a relative of Caroline? which would help prove the marriage. I haven't got her on any censuses with her parents or siblings so I can't see if there's a Catherine. I can't find her in 1851 either.
I've almost completed John now Only his birth/christening and 1841 census missing. Thankyou

Its possible that Catherine and Caroline are the the same person, we have had it happen before, the ages match.

The only way to be sure is a copy of the marriage cert.

Baptism/Christening Place: Munslow, Shropshire.
Father's Name: Thomas Poston.
Mother's Name: Mary.

There are a couple of possibilities for 1841....
And of course it doesn't give birthplace, or year of birth (only age)

1841 - District - Ludlow, Mudlow

1841 - District - St Marys, Shrewsbury
Address listed as St Mary's Place

Thankyou Its looking like the first one for a few reasons....Firstly the area Ludlow which is where the family mainly lived, although i'm not sure how far away Shrewsbury is
Also there have been a lot of Williams in the family, William my grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather!!
and then the fact that William is a farmer and John was an agricultural labourer

In 1901 there is a Caroline HEIGHWAY is a widow living in Brocton, in the parish of Shipton. Her age is given as 67, she is a Visitor, and her birthplace was Munslow. The head of the house is Richard ALLEN.

Also, FreeBMD lists the death of a John HEIGHWAY age 67 in the Jul/Aug/Sep quarter of 1895 in the Madeley registration district.

I can't find either John or Caroline on the 1901 census.
