Isn't that a good piece of advice our mother's said
You know tidy in the undergarments just in case knocked down in the road

What a dreadful thing to be knocked down and have some really weird stuff
under your trousers!

Just a heads up for all readers!

Have you had a premonition NL that we are all going to be in accidents in the next few days?

When I was a kid they might have found some Brussel Sprouts in there.

That is where I used to hide them when Mum would not let us leave the dining table till we had ate the rotten things.

Unlike other things you couldn't drop them under the table for the dog to eat.

 You have no idea how relieved I was, a couple of weeks ago, that I had shaved my legs earlier that day, when I slept walked down the stairs, fell and had to stretchered off to A & E, where I spent hours having my leg looked at and then plastered. Also very relieved that I recently started wearing something in bed, so was wearing some, nice, new PJs.

I hope the new PJ's survived the fall and that your leg is recovering -- sounds like you need a child proof gate at the top of the stairs or would you climb over it?

PJ's are fine. Both legs are still poorly, broken foot one side and ligaments on the other knee. Could do with an Electric Scooter!

We do have child gates for the grandchildren but I'm tall and would probably have gone head first over it, as it was, I just collapsed down the last two steps. This was a moment I regretted the ceramic tiled hall floor.

I have given up shaving my legs now as the bath afterwards looks like the dog has been in there!!
If we had one that is!
a dog
not a bath
we have a bath!
not used it today yet ....................

I just think it is prudent to be prepared for these little occurances
why I only said to Wolvie, before he left for the Wolves V West Brom game today
that he must be ready for little occurances
he is always neat in his dress

I think it must be an age thing and as many of us are around 'That Age' we had better look out. There's me, thinking I was safely tucked up in bed, next thing I know I'm getting Gas & Air on the Hall floor.

I e-mailed a cousin and told her about my accident, she is a few months older than me. She was getting stuff out of the loft, went through the ceilng, knocking herself out on the way down and went all the way down the stairs. Also ending up in the Halll. (is there a pattern emerging here? Maybe genetic? :? ) Look out any Lewetts.

Then in the week, my ex B-I-Law, was out with his Norton Bike Club, same age as me (mid life crisis, should have just grown his hair like me  ) he ended up under a car in Burton on Trent (why would you go there?) broken pelvis, fractures to spine and serious flesh wounds.

So, seriously, check your knicker drawer, right now. And that bra, that used to be white but is now some indefinable shade of something horrid, bin all things you wouldn't want to be seen dead in because.............

If you are more or less incapacitated does that give you an excuse and time for doing more family history or does everything else just take longer?

I can't concentrate, I keep having awful flashbacks, so not helping with the Family History at all. It's such an effort to get anywhere, that just getting round the house is making me lose weight. That is good but not a diet plan I'd recommend.

But, neatly bringing it back on topic, you just don't know when these things might happen, so be prepared.

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about it! In your ex brother in law's case, Lulu, he'd have probably had his clothes cut off him in A and E. As for everybody else - we've seen it all before and worse! You stop noticing after a while, unless it's really really bad, or plain strange!

I've scanned a few men who go comando! :o :o
The look on their faces when we ask them to take their trousers off!! I mean most of us change our underwear once a day, do they change their trousers once a day too? I scanned one, who had trunks on instead of undies - made me wonder if he normally didn't wear anything, but had a bit of foresight that day!!

 I've just remembered! When we were living in Cardiff, my Husband was knocked down by a Post Office Van, while he was getting the early morning papers. He went into work did his shift and then phoned me at 9 am to tell me he had to go to hospital. My first question was. What is your underwear like?? He likes to wear things until there are more holes than material. So I had to dash to M & S, buy some boxers and a pair of socks and get him changed before I would take him to Casualty.

On the plus side we had a very sizeable cheque in compensation. Lots of new underweear then.
