I tried looking for Jane Rice, but Ancestry throws up over 1000 respondants with a DOB of 1873+/-2. Was she definately born in Liverpool?
She may have been staying with a relative, working as a servant...
Unless I'm doing something really stupid, Ancestry doesn't have a great deal of access to 1911!

Ancestry hasn't got full details of 1911 on yet -- you need FMP for full access -- Ancestry is aiming to have it on later this year I think!

Again wife doesn't match, but if Mary had died he could have remarried.
On image it has him as having 6 children still living and 2 dead.
Sarah Ann has 5 born but only 1 still living and none dead - who are those kids on the census then? It doesn't make sense!!
