Hi folks,
In 1901:
Priscilla Sheridan, born Staffordshire, the head of the house, is Married but her husband is not with her, she has her children with her..
Alice age 8
Lily age 4 All children have surname Sheridan born Staffordshire
Thomas age 2

They are living at 25 Sparrow Street, Smallthorne, Leek Staffordshire. They are 3 lodgers in the house. William Tayler, 37, Joseph Grainger, 40 and John Barratt, 60.

in 1911:
Priscilla is HOH, age 49 and a widow, again she has her 3 children with her as above, and now 3 different lodgers. John Malpass 47, Richard Gould 48, and Charles Frederick Jones age 30.
Living at 27 Sparrow Street, Smallthorne.

Have searched BMD for a surname Sheridan/forename Priscilla marriage and the only likely hit is:
Mar 1900 Stoke T
Thomas Sheridan
Priscilla Jellemer.

An All types search on BMD produces no other hits for Jellemer.
A pre 1901 census search produces no Jellemer hits, at least not with my provider.

I assume from Marriage Date, if its correct, that this is not Priscilla's first Marriage and that the children were not originally Sheridan.

4 of the 6 boarders surnames appear in my tree, coincidence?

If anyone could shed some light I would be most grateful

She married James and then when married Sheridan used her maiden name? Would she have used maiden name because she was legally still Winchurch? If she was married in 01 wheres hub? and what names were the children given originally??

Suppose she could have left him - I wonder if Beatrice is her's or the housekeepers

so she had kids with him and married after???
