Hello everyone

I'm new here, but not new to genealogy, as I have been researching my family for about a year. My father and uncle left family trees, it's been very interesting following what they did and realising just how much we have in the way of resources now - even if I am doing it on a limited budget!
My fairly recent ancestors came from a limited area - Cheshire ( where I was born) Lancashire, North Wales, and southwest Scotland. (My grandfather then married an Irish girl from Dublin.) About 1900, descendants left Britain to end up all over the world. I'm now in touch with second cousins in five countries.....
I looked for more forums to ask more people about - mainly - my brick walls. The people I can't find at all. The people who vanish! The people I know emigrated - where to?
I love detective work, though. - Alison
