Mine came today, sure looks complicated..............No wonder our Ancestors couldn't be doing with it.

They are going to do the Canadian census in May.
There has been huge debate over our census here.... the Govt has decided to get rid of the 'long form census'... so that only a very basic amount of info. will be collected. Then they are going to do a 'voluntary household survey'... so it up to the householder whether they provide info. or not!
I think genealogists here are 'tearing their hair out!

I got mine also, you can fill them in on line, big difference from thast census take we had to take them from door to door and fill the names in abook for each house if you could find them in .

Seems so much to fill in... even your education grades etc

Looks like a lot more info than I remember adding before.

So wonder if it will be the last one?

It's a shame my husband and I wont be there! Purely selfish, but if the family of the future wonders where I disapeared to, it could be quite good that they could see that I'd married a dane!

Wonder how much truth that will have. How many people have lied to their spouses that they have a university degree or higher grades than they actually got.

Ours arrived yesterday.

Why would one want to lie to your spouse about your qualifications? I could understand lying to an employer, or at least to get an interview, but what does it matter to your spouse about your education? Once you've spent time together you'ld know the approximate level of education anyway.

Unfortunately I suspect there are more people who lie about things like that to their spouses than you'd expect! But at the end of the day it's not so much the grade you obtained, more what you do with it!
When I qualified as a radiographer we were informed on the percentage we had achieved, but it doesn't appear anywhere other than on the flimsy bit of paper that told us whether we'd passed or not. What I've achieved since then counts for more in terms of how good I am as a radiographer, and I don't have bits of paper to show for it!
Can't understand why people lie about their qualifications to employers, you tend to get found out, and in some cases it could lead to stiff penalties.

I can understand why one might lie about qualifications to get an interview as some employers set a minimum educational level just to reduce the number of applicants, after that I suppose it's more difficult to 'come clean', but I still don't understand why one would lie about such things to one's spouse, except for those fantasists who lie as a matter of course I can see no logical reason to pretend about one's educational achievements to anyone.

If I was interviewing someone and they came clean about lying about their qualifications then I'd probably not employ them! If I did then I'd have a longer than usual trial period to make sure they "delivered the goods"!

As far as lying to a spouse or partner goes, people lie to their partner all the time about various things, so why not about qualifications. That I have not done it doesn't mean to say I can't believe that others would!

Worked in Personnel for a long time and when we asked for quallies - we also asked for the backup, so I don't think that happens much these days - however, my ex told me when we met that he has a masters (don't know why, unles it was to impress)- once he'd said it - he then had to keep up the pretence - until the day he applied for promotion and asked me to do his CV - I'd known him for 15 years by then.
